I'm marking it here in case for some reason I forget to put it on her baby calendar: Saturday, August 16, 2008. Just a few days after her nine-month milestone. It's such a relief – at seven and a half months I started worrying she wasn't getting enough tummy-time (she was so content to just sit and lean). We started working with her and here she is – crawling! Except…wait a minute…crap. Now she's into everything. And it's all winding up in her mouth. And suddenly my whole house is a death trap and…hold on I have to check on her…thank God for an older, very trainable sibling who is all too willing to tattle.
But, really, we're very happy for her. And she seems to be, too. Like the whole world has opened up to her.
And, of course, I'm a little bit sad, too. You guys know how everything happy also makes me sad. My baby is getting bigger, and brighter. I want to keep her right here – at nine months. Little. Chubby. Innocent. It's going too fast, people!

She’s so adorable! My house was never cleaner than when my babies started crawling…

Crawling!? Next think you know she’ll be pulling up on the furniture and then you’ll REALLY be in trouble!
I found your blog last week and spent way too much time this weekend reading through it. I really enjoyed reading through your deployment as the military life is something I’m just learning about/getting used to via a newish boyfriend, so I really appreciate reading through other’s experiences!

I know what you mean! Carter is getting into everything these days. He took his first small step yesterday and I am so NOT ready for my baby to start walking! And, my oldest “baby” will be a high school junior this year.

Yey for crawling, but not so yey for the parents.
My little one is doing the leaning bit so I would imagine that crawling is just around the corner.
I went through all his clothes yesterday and put aside all the ones that are too small.
I had to wipe a few tears away when I was doing it.
