I am quite sure that these pictures aren’t as terribly interesting and beautiful to you as they are to this proud mommy, but that doesn’t keep me from sharing them. She’s now four months old. And precious as ever. Notice how her toes curl into a sort of "hello"?
I realized today as my computer was whirring and struggling to process even the simplest program that it may be a bit overloaded under the weight of the bamillion and forty-two pictures I’ve piled onto it. Which begs the question: what is the best method for storing digital pictures? A separate hard drive?

She is adorable!!! I can totally relate to your picture problem! I store all mine at Kodak Gallery (kodakgallery.com), I like the idea of a hard drive but if something happens to my house (knock on wood!) and the hard drive gets ruined it defeats the purpose of having things stored there

My hard drive recently crashed. After much research, I bought a 320GB Western Digital Hard Drive from newegg.com. It cost about $130 but holds 91,000 JPEGs. It’s the most trustworthy and electronically/mechanically stable solution in the long run, I think.
Hope that helps!

I love photoworks.com
They have a “year in Cds” that is wonderful. I have over 4000 pics on my computer. I got them all burned and organized for $20. They regularly offer coupons. This past time I only paid $15 and it does not matter how many CDs it takes. I think I ended up with about 6.
I learned to upload to photoworks as soon as I download from my camera. I lost about 4 months of pics when my oldest was 3 and my little girl was 1. My hard drive just went out… =(
Good luck
Heather

Just popped on here to bring up wal-mart. you upload all the high res images you have to them, and as long as you order anything (even one print) once a year, it’s (storage)totally free. If you ever were to lose any, you would have hi-resolution.

My foot say’s “hello” back!
What a cutie.
I have my photos on their own designated drives, organized by year.
It works pretty well for me. 🙂

Do take care of your pictures. We have a little program that runs when no one is using the computer. It picks pictures in random order and sometimes we find the children sitting just watching. Much better than an album.

So cute. Love her hair too. External hard drives are pretty inexpensive these days so you could move all your photos to one of those. I haven’t done that yet either, but I have uploaded all my favorites to Flickr so that if something were to happen at least I would be able to get them back from there. Plus, having them on Flick makes it easy to share with friends and family.

What a cutie patootie! Love the little toes. Baby pictures are ALWAYS interesting and beautiful. I used to burn my pics on CD, but recently bought a hard drive for them all. Easy to set up automatic backup and and easy retrieval.

She’s such a cutie!!
I burn my photos onto CD’s. You can make a copy and keep the another copy in a safe place outside your home, in case God forbid, of some natural or other disaster destroyed your home.
