A while ago (okay, over a year ago), after years of pain and paperwork, dear friends of ours finally brought their baby home from China. Beautiful little S., one year old.
This blanket shouldn't actually take a year to finish. It got put to the side after some rough times in the Butler house. And you know how that goes…so when the whole house got sick a while ago I decided to just buck up and finish it. Within a few days, I had this:
And I almost don't want to give it away.
I am horrible at edgings, so I chose rows of single crochet in a pretty lilac. I love it.
I hope S. does, too. Congrats, Lex and Justin!!!
Crochet Notes: Bernat Cotton Tots in "Sunshine" & "Lovely Lilac" (I love this yarn!), Spiderweb pattern similar to this.
Wow, that is beautiful. I love that buttery yellow.
That is gorgeous! What refreshing colors! I decided yesterday that I think lilac is my new favorite fashion color. That notion was confirmed as I passed by the display window of Ann Taylor Loft yesterday. Coveting. It’s a terrible thing…
Totally beautiful. And I am sure it will be well loved.
Yellow and lavender together is always a sure bet.

I’m not usually a huge fan of the way crochet looks, but I really like this blanket! The yellow is so nice and sunny!
I think it is gorgeous!
Very pretty. You know you done good when you want to keep it at the end =).
It’s a darling pattern and I love the color combo. Such a nice gift for your friends. It’s always better to finish it and give it late than not at all!
I love the blanket. Very pretty. Congratulations to your friends. My oldest sister, Stephanie, and her husband also adopted a baby girl from China when she was 11 months old (she’s 3 1/2 now). I know the wait is long and hard.
