Her little chef hat is courtesy of our mini-swap partner family – two little boys who sent her trucks and cars and books and stickers (thanks, Stephenie & sons)!
E. is usually stuck to my legs begging for something while I cook dinner, so tonight I asked for her help instead of trying to shoo her out of the kitchen. She faithfully stirred the mushroom soup for our pork chops while I prepped everything else,and actually got pretty upset when I covered it all up and put it in the oven.
Is it normal for a mom to think everything her child does is cute and think this is the best stage about every stage??? Please tell me it doesn’t stop being fun…(I might be eating my words when we get to our next goal – potty training).
She is so adorable. What an adventure…Everyday seems to brings something new with her.

Well, this is just your momma’s take on things, but what I remember is that every little thing you girls learned or said was just the cutest/funniest/most precious, to the point where I could almost cry… until you reached your teens… then everything you learned made me “proud as a peacock” (as the cliche goes). No one played violin with more passion or caught a softball with greater agility. And then even in college, no one’s child had ever made the dean’s list for as many semesters in a row as “my” Crys or been given a solo in her freshman year before “my” Lora 😉 [And yes, you feel all these things intensely regardless of whatever else you may feel]
So when your girlfriends all brag on their kids, just smile and nod your head… hey, YOU know that no one’s child is smarter/cuter/funnier/has more integrity than your own. (I *still* tell everyone I think God gave me the very BEST daughters that could be had in this world!)

Hey! I always thought everything the boys did was so cute, but they get even cuter as they grow. The things they say and come up with never cease to amaze me. To some degree they are just funny in their thinking and ways.

It’s normal to think they are so cute! I still think Aaron is the cutest thing ever. I frown upon those who don’t share that sentiment with me. 😀 But it’s rare that it’s not shared. 😀 E is a doll and love the hat, makes her look like Chef Boy R “E”. 😀

Eve and I “cook” together all the time, my life would be incomplete without having seen her face after tasting baking powder, and just the other day cinnamon!
My take is that it will never stop being fun. Potty training can be challenging but with all those cute undies out there you can still have a blast!

it’s still fun at the 4 1/2 yr. old stage! 🙂 i am like that too- i worry constantly about time slipping away and reaching the point when my boys no longer want anything to do with me! but i’m starting to let myself believe we will be pals forever! 🙂 glad you had fun with your little girl! 🙂
It’s the easiest ever – I think its in my wedding recipe box as “Lora’s Porkchops” (my sister used to make them). Anyway:
Pour 1 can of cream of mushroom soup in a casserole dish. Add some milk (a can or less). Add mushrooms if you like. Stir well.
In the meantime, salt and pepper 4 porkchops. Brown/sear them in a frying pan. Add them to the casserole dish and cover the chops with the mixture (this was E’s favorite part).
Cover dish with foil. Bake in oven at 350 for about 40 minutes.
Serve over rice or noodles.
That is too cute. I think about that Pork Chop recipe often, but I never can remember how to fix it. Will you send me the recipe?
