This time last year James had just returned home and I was so thankful for all the little things. I can’t believe how much has happened in a year: a new job (and way of life), in a new state across the country, a new house, new baby.
E. (shorthand for Evyn) has spent the last few days running up and down the hall in her new Snow White costume, every once in a while stopping to peek at the baby and ask questions. This morning we’re watching the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and later we’ll stuff ourselves with dinner and maybe watch an old movie while putting together E. and A.’s new pink Christmas tree. It sounds charmed, doesn’t it? It is. Don’t get me wrong – J. and I haven’t had much sleep, I’m having breastfeeding issues, and E. will probably pee on the floor in a tantrum at some point today…but, mostly, our life is relative calm. We have so very much to be thankful for this year.
And while I’m at it, I want to say thank you to every one of you who has dropped by to wish us well. I’ve been tickled to get all of your comments, and meet the new visitors. It’s been a happy week – a sleepless one – but a happy one, too.
Lastly, while I am sitting here enjoying having my little family together, I am reminded of my friends whose husbands and family members are away on a deployment this holiday season. I’ll pray for them at dinner this afternoon. I hope you’ll pray for our troops, their peace of mind, and their safety.
Best,
Crystal

Congratulations on the birth of your second child. Just in July I adopted a little girl and am so happy to have two daughters during this holiday season. May your girls give you as much happiness as mine do.

Congratulations on that precious little bundle. When I first started reading blogs I stumbled onto yours but hadn’t seen it again until I stumbled onto again through Sew, Mama, Sew. I am so happy for you…to have your husband home and now a new little life. May God truly bless you this Christmas season and fill you heart with joy…have a great weekend 🙂

I also thought I left a comment on the heavenly day post, but I don’t see it there…such is life when you type with a two year old on your lap! Anyway congratulations and best wishes.

Take care of yourself.

(and don’t worry about responding to my comments if you’re tired, I know that feeling all too well.)
ps. I can hook up you with a very supportive breastfeeding support group on Yahoo (Christian moms) if you need. I’ve been with them for 6 years.
